Frequently Asked Questions...
Do you have a Question we did not answer? email us !! Mrsunitedstatesnm@gmail.com
Can you clarify something for me? I have been hearing about multiple pageants and am confused about which one to join and what are the differences? Are all the pageants connected and what makes yours unique? How many Pageants do you hold in my State a year? Can I do more than one Pageant a year from different organizations?
We are the Mrs. United States Organization.
You can tell the difference from each pageant, as they end their title with the organization name (ie..United States, America, or Global Nations, International). When looking at holding a title for an organization, we recommend you speak directly with the director (s). Speak to as many directors from various pageants before you decide. Find an organization who represents your state, and your local communities, and charities. We recommend you find one that has an Official National Pageant as part of their organization that will have representation for each state at their national event. Ask the director what organization they are in, and what do they specifically do for their state title holder, and how they include local titles. Ask your potential director how many times you can expect to see them before the Pageant (this is important for ease of communication and prep). Within each organization there are different categories depending on your age, marital status and whether you have children or not. At this time this website only holds the directorship for the Mrs. Division. (married women with or without children)
There are other United States Pageants for Miss, MS, Teen, and Jr. Teen... at this time we are not the directors for those divisions... If you would like more information on another division please email us, and we would be happy to help direct you to the state director for those divisions. However; everyone is welcome to attend the March 30, 2014 prep camp, because we are here to help everyone involved with pageantry.
See our events pages for prep camp information.
We are affiliated with the Mrs. United States Pageant held this year in Las Vegas NV. July 20-25, 2014 @ the South Point Hotel & Casino. The directors will accompany the state title holder to the National Pageant.
You will also want to be involved with an organization that has an extensive prize package from sponsors in YOUR state... Sponsors who are offering wonderful items for both you, your husband, and lots of in-kind gifts... not just discounts for services. At this time our prize package is over $9,000 for the winner of 2014! And In 2015 we expect it to be larger for both Delagates and Winners.
Of course our pageant offers all of the above! Our pageant is held annually before May 31st.
All pageants have different rules about whether you can participate in others though out the year. Ask your director for rules and regulations.
How much experience do I need? What if I am not in the best shape or I am short? How can I get prepared for this?
Experience is not necessary in Pageantry, as a matter of fact, everyone was new at one time. In our experience, our Mrs. Pageant has many married women who have never competed in anything like this before. Women who are looking for a new adventure, a way to use their Crown and Sash to help a cause, or something they are passionate about. Many women want the experience of trying something new, and getting out of their comfort zone to become better speakers, great represenatives of their companies, and community, and or just to represent their family and prove to themselves they CAN do this.
This pageant is created by women who want to highlight the beauty, passion, and poise of married women in NM. It gives women another way to be beautiful and powerful, and to be heard. The Mrs. New Mexico United States pageant Directors also are highly involved and both live in NM. We have Prep Camps all year long for all delegates and work hard to help EACH woman represent themselves in the best way they can! The directors do not discuss delegates, with the Judges before the event. Each judge will have your photo, paperwork in a notebook a few days before arrival so they can "study" your information, ie..get to know you better.
Women of all ages, sizes and heights enter our Pageant. Women of all ages, backgrounds, and various sizes have won! Remember you are getting involved in pageanty to better yourself, to grow as a woman, and for your community! Winning the top prize can only go to one woman, but all the delegates can choose to go away with a wonderful experience, learn, and grow together! You will gain a voice for something, make a bigger impact, and make others even more proud of you. If you have a passion for making the people you meet, your surroundings better than how you found them; then Pageanty is for you!! Plus, wearing a Crown and a Sash is an amazing feeling! See the prize packages for all the delegates, Top 5 and other awards given just for participating!
Is there a talent portion? What am I judged on? Why should I consider running in a Pageant? Who is judging me? Do I need to do charity work or community service? Do I need a "cause" or "platform", and what does that even mean?
Do I need to have had children to be in the Mrs. Pageant? What are the fees and how do I earn a local title so that I can compete at the State Mrs. Pageant? Do I have to compete locally to go to the State Pageant?
You do not need to have children to be in the Mrs. New Mexico United States Pageant.
See the Entry Rules, Ad Sales Page for more information on fees.

After Top 5 is chosen, the panel of Judges have the opportunity to see them one more time and rank Top 5 with one more scoring system.
We at MRSNMUS pride ourselves on having a very unique and independent professional judging panel who will be chosen from both NM and other states. We will always do our very best to insure that each Judge has not been personally involved with any of the delegates in the last year and if possible not at all. Each Judge will have a very different and highly qualified backgrounds in their business or area of expertise. The judging panel will always have a judges orientation and be fullly versed in the judging process. Judges will not all come from one area of expertise.
Expect to have a well rounded Judging panel from any of the following backgrounds: Fitness, Business, Charity, Modeling, Clothing and or Fashion, Pageantry, Coaching, Government titles.
Interested in Judging ??? Email us! Mrsunitedstatesnm@gmail.com
Charity work is not a specific requirement of the pageant. However; most of our delegates choose a cause that they are close to because holding a title in this pageant gives you a microphone to better represent your cause of choice. When you are in the interview portion, it will help you to have a platform you can speak passionately about making yourself more interesting and show that you are using your title to help NM and its charities or programs! You can use your Sash and Crown all year long to be more involved in local events in your area and make appearances at events you might not otherwise get invited to! We as the directors help find ways for you to get involved too if you need assistance. Having a Platform is one of the ways Mrs NM United States is different from other organizations.
We recommend you choose something you are passionate about or that you are already doing or have been wanting to get involved in.
For example: If you love children and already volunteer at your child's school, maybe you would choose fundraising for better books at your local school. Or does your business or Job have charites that they require you to be a part of already? Has your family been effected by a disease or illness that you would like better represented in your state? Did you suffer from something as a child and you would like to help children going through the same thing or bring light to what happend to you? Do you own your own business and would like to make people more aware of what you do in a positive way? The ideas are endless and choosing to run in a well organized and fun Pageant, has many and wonderful benefits!
